Galanthus ‘Atkinsii’ flowers early with a large flower. It is one of several classic snowdrops that has survived since the 19th century. Originally grown by James Atkins (1), a notable nurseryman, he claims to have found the plant in southern Italy. Although this heritage was called into question, the cultivar remains a popular and timeless snowdrop nonetheless.
